About the Strathcarron Singers

In September 2004 Molly Parsons MBE, the first Matron of Strathcarron Hospice fulfilled a long-held ambition to form a choir. Although there were only 7 singers at the first rehearsal the choir grew rapidly and today stands at around 45 members who enjoy singing for fun.

Many of the choir are associated with the Hospice - as current or former staff members, spouses or partners.

Everyone gives their time freely and to date the choir has given over 40 public performances for a wide range of organisations, raising well over £170,000.

The choir is also an excellent social network for keeping in touch with old friends.

News

Our first rehearsal of the 2019 – 2020 session is on September 6th at Strathcarron Hospice and we would welcome new members to join us. Contact us via our contact page or speak to a member of the choir. We are excited that we now have our own piano which will spur us on to greater things. We are very grateful to James & Julie Mathie for their kind donation.

We had a very successful Annual Concert in the Albert Halls Stirling on May 19th. The choir were in excellent voice under Musical Director Matthew Brown accompanied by David Brown his very talented dad, David.

Special guests were Rebecca Harris, Queen Victoria School and The Band of the Royal British Legion Scotland all of whom made terrific contributions to our programme. The Combined Finale, Highland Cathedral was, we were told, one of the best yet.

If you would like to join us please look at the contacts page on this website. We welcome all singers but particularly gentlemen of the bass persuasion.

Annual Concert 2020

We hope you will join us at The Albert Halls, Stirling for our Gala Concert on Saturday May 16th, 2020. Guests to be announced.
